Just as in the title of that old song by The Seekers, the carnival is over. However, thanks to the Internet, images from the carnival in Malta and Gozo remain with us throughout the year. The most amazing pictures from the carnival of Malta I've ever seen were taken by Darrin Zammit Lupi during several years of fieldwork on the folk carnival (particularly in Nadur and Ghaxaq) conducted by Dr. Vicki Ann Cremona, currently Malta's Ambassador in Paris. If you haven't seen these images before, now is a good time as any to check them out on Darrin's website.
Speaking of photos, this month we're working on giving you a sneak peak at a new website called Imagine Gozo, packed with beatiful images taken on and around what is arguably the most beatiful part of the Maltese islands. A link for this new site on the MaltaMedia Online Network will appear on the main page at aboutmalta.com in a couple of week, so keep a lookout for it after mid-March. Imagine Gozo will be officially launched in the springtime.
