Kif inti. Hi my name Pat Spiteri. I am a pilot in the Canadian Airforce. I'm from Fgura in Malta and spent all my early and teenage years there. I left when I was 20 to join the Air Force as I always wanted to fly. I promised myself that if I was unsuccessful I would return to the island as flying was the only thing that would keep me from there. Fortunately, I made it and am now an Instructor pilot in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm married to Karen and have a 2 and a half year old, Nicholas.( Call sign" Niko"). The highlight of my flying career up to now was a flight I did to Malta to take part in the 1994 Malta International Airshow! It was great to fly in and look down at the spot where I used to sit as a kid and watch the RAF aircraft flying in. I remember cycling to the airport every day waiting to see aircraft taking-off or landing and saying to myself - "Someday I'll be doing that!". I took my crew of 15 for an aerial tour of the island and I'm telling you they were impressed. They should be, it is Malta after all!!!

I now fly the CP140 Aurora with 404 Squadron after completing a tour with 405 Squadron. I served twice in the Adriatic with operational deployments enforcing the embargo against the former Yugoslavia. Before this, I flew the CT-114 jet and took advantage of a fighter base close by to get on the CF-18. When they say "there's no life like it" they mean it! I would love to hear from anyone interested in aviation. Nispera li jkolli l-pjacir nerga lura Malta ghal-Airshow tas-sena '96. Sahha lill Maltin kolla. Take care and happy flying! Thanks Grazio for this opportunity to meet with others.
