The number of radio and tv stations in Malta has mushroomed since the liberalisation of this sector in 1991. With four terrestrial and a number of cable tv stations, and 20 between national and community radio stations, there is plenty to choose from! The popularity of newspapers has declined over the years at the expense of radio and television, but the advent of Internet as fully-fletched infotainment medium is having its effects on the traditional media.
